Virtually everybody into dropshipping knows one or two things about Oberlo and AliDropship. And this is probably because both of them are excellent tools when it comes to dropshipping.
But if you are like me, I like to spend as little as possible to get the maximum return. Which makes me very meticulous in choosing the right tool for my business.
Dropshipping business as brought about a revolution in the e-commerce world. Whereby gentlemen and women like you and me can start a global business with as low as $100 and makeup to thousands of dollars on a monthly basis.
Thanks to the internet, and presently with over 3.5billion people browsing the internet on a daily basis makes me think the Skye is your limit.
Even better is the advent of tools like Alidropship and Oberlo!
Starting a dropshipping business with the likes of the two software couldn’t be more easier compare to when your tasks are done manually.
The downside to this is that both software is exclusively and specifically built for their platform. This means AliDropship can’t be interchangeably used with Oberlo.
Oberlo only works on Shopify while AliDropship is built specifically for both WordPress and WooCommere.
What does this mean for your dropshipping business? It means you have to choose one of the two and your choice will definitely determine the platform you choose to dropship.
In this article, I’ll compare AliDropship vs Oberlo, highlight both of their strength, weakness and many other features included in both tools. And at the end, you should probably know the right tool, to begin with.
What is AliDropship
AliDropship is an IT based company that offers an effective automated solution that gives you access to everything available on AliExpress. This allowing you to run a perfect and profitable dropshipping business.

The app makes it easy for you to find products from various suppliers in AliExpress and have them ship the product to your customer whenever you have an order with just a few clicks.
In order to have access to Oberlo app and add products to your online store, first, you need to create an account with Shopify. It’s after you have a full set-up store powered by Shopify that you can then install the Oberlo app.
Oberlo doesn’t work on other platform but Shopify only.
In the next paragraph, I’ll compare AliDropship and Oberlo based on their dropshipping e-commerce platform. Which of course is Shopify and WordPress+WooCommerce.

While importing your products, at the same time you’ll be able to edit the product descriptions. Since Google ignore duplicate content, editing the product description will give you the chance to rank higher on search engines for that particular products.

AliDropship Vs Oberlo – Differences
Both tools are awesome, but as you would have known already. There are still some differences in their features and functionality. Below are the top difference between AliDropship and Oberlo.
The AliDropship plugin comes with carefully designed themes that you can easily use to build your online store. While the WooCommerce version gives you access to hundreds, if not thousands of different free themes that you can customize to your own preference.

While Basic and Pro plan is 10,000 and 30,000 respectively.
#3: AliExpress Cash-back System
AliDropship gives you the opportunity to make additional money with AliExpress through their affiliate program. Normally to earn commissions as an affiliate of AliExpress on your website you need the AliExpress affiliate plugin.
But, however, AliDropship was able to incorporate this features inside their plugin. So that any order you send to AliExpress gives you an additional commission up to 12% on that product.
The AliExpress Cash-back system is not available on Oberlo

Oberlo offers a 30 days free trial to test the platform and after you need to upgrade to any of the paid plans.
- Basic Plan – $29.90/month. With this, you can import up to 10,000 products per month and equally receive up to 500 orders.
- Pro Plan – $79.90/month. This plan allows you to import up to 30,000 products and receive unlimited orders from your store.
P.S – keep in mind you still need to choose from any of the Shopify plans to keep your store running. Shopify plan starts from $29/month. Your average subscription fee per year using this platform should be $696.
AliDropship, on the other hand, does not offer any free trial or monthly subscription. You just need to pay a one-time fee of $89. And if you so which, you could also choose from their hosting plans and finally get yourself a Domain name with less than $10 from NameCheap.
This one-time fee gives you access to every feature and a lifetime full update and support with AliDropship. There’s no hidden or future charges, just the one-time fee of $89.
The AliDropship plugin was intentionally tailored to meets the demands of newbies trying out dropshiping for the first time. They went a bit further to create the following marketing features to make your business profitable.
- Discount Coupons – this allows you to run sales and promotions by offering coupon codes on your product. Which usually leads to more sales.
- Abandoned Cart – the features allows you to recover most of your abandoned cart through sending of emails to customers that didn’t finish their check-out.
- Email lists – this plugin allows you to collect emails of visitor that visit your online stores and those that drop their contact but didn’t finish their purchase.

Oberlo, on the other hand, is more like a standalone package. You’ll need to visit the Shopify app store for any other tools you might want to add to your store. An app like Beeketing offers some free apps and works perfectly fine on Shopify store.
AliDropship Vs Oberlo – Drawbacks for Both Tools
Like every other product and services out there, they both also have their drawbacks and shortcomings.
Not all is sunshine and rainbows when it comes to AliDropship. Below are some of their drawbacks.
- Web Management- In other to efficiently use the plugin, most especially the WooCommerce version. Users should have an experience with WordPress or WooCommerce. If not, then the Default AliDropship Plugin will do just fine.
- Web Security – like every other e-commerce website you need to secure your website for the safety of your customer. This usually happens to be an additional cost in setting up your website. However, AliDropship hosting provides a free SSL certificate to secure your Website, you just need to install it following their guide. NameCheap also gives all their users a one year free SSL certificate.
Just like AliDropship using Oberlo for dropshipping comes with a little setback.
- Limited Control – The Shopify platform is in control of your store and as such you might not be allowed to sell some certain products.
- Monthly Recurring fee – hardly will you see any free app on Shopify to use alongside Oberlo. The best you can see is a few days trial which will later need to be upgraded through the monthly sub.
To be frank they are both wonderful tools. But like I said earlier, I like to spend as little as possible to generate the maximum returns. Oberlo is like a done for you package. You just have to sign up with Shopify and install the App. But if care is not taken the monthly recurring fee could rip you apart.
