Ways to Make Money Online in Nigeria
Before we proceed, I just want to let you know that making money online revolves around some certain KEY factors.
We have the minor extra income and we have the major income, you see, the minor income can’t make you rich but it’s going to put some quick cash in your pocket as a side income. They include paid surveys, Ponzi schemes, “get rich quick business” etc.
However, major incomes are money made from actual business, which can either be passive or active. The active ones are the ones that require your service while the passive income (My Favorite) are money made online even while you’re sleeping.
This type keeps your bank account smiling all the time.
So basically, what I’m trying to say is that, if you really want to make money online, then you have to provide a value.
I mean real VALUE!
These are solutions to people’s problem, and the more problem you solve the more money you make online.
Your value could be in form of a (Virtual/Digital Product or Physical) or online services rendered in exchange for money or in form of consolation, advice, consultation, answer to question etc.
This could literally be anything, so far people need it. And once people are getting real value from you, trust me, you’re a step away from being a millionaire!
I know you might be thinking you don’t know anything you can offer as value to people.
Well, don’t worry we all feel that way while starting, which is why I’m listing a few of the best online business ideas in Nigeria that you can pursue.
You just need to pick one, learn and understand it then build a business around it.
How Much Does It Cost To Start Online Business in Nigeria?
I’ve received so many questions as to how much is needed to start an online business. I also understand some of us would like to start with NO CAPITAL which is also possible.
So, I’ll be listing businesses you can do online with ZERO CAPITAL and cash BIG at the end of the month. However, one thing is needed or perhaps inevitable…
And this is having a website or blog.
Don’t get confused, I’ll explain the two in a bit!
The Difference between a Website & a Blog
First, you should understand that all blogs are part of a website, and not all website is a blog. If you have a business website, you can decide to add a blog section to it.
What makes a website is the idea behind it, which is the reason for creating it. Website is more like a single page with information about your business or the reason it was created.
Blog however deals with articles and content creation like the one you’re ready. So this article you’re reading is written on my blog which is part of my website.
If you have a website you can decide to do anything you want with it, this includes any online business you’d want to do.
So back to the question, how much is required to start an online business in Nigeria?
The basic cost is going to be for creating your website. And for this, you’ll going to need a domain name, SSL certificate and a web hosting account.
Your domain name is going to be the name of your website, SSL certificate is for the protection of people visiting your website and it’s made compulsory by Google.
This is usually the padlock key at the back of every website name on the top left corner of every page you visited.
Your domain name could be your name(dot)com or anything good for branding.
However, with Bluehost, you can get your domain name and SSL certificate for free and only pay for hosting.
Usually, a domain name is around $14 per year and SSL certificate around $20 per year.
All this comes for free using Bluehost and your only cost going to be for hosting which is around $70.
For creation your website, I’ve written a blog post for it. I’ll suggest you go through it.
Now let’s get started!

OwoDaily is a digital jobs community where its membership gives its users access to multiple streams of income online.
However, I believe the platform acts as an intermediary between providers of services and clients looking to buy a service at a stipulated price.
This platform brings two individuals together; the one that wants to get a job done and the other that gets the job done.
The individual that wants a service pays OwoDaily and OwoDaily, in turn, pays the individuals that get the job done.
For every job you do on the platform, there’s a certain amount of money you’ll be paid when your job is verified and approved.

Survey sites may not guarantee you making a large amount of money to buy your dream car, nor get you your dream house.
But your cumulative earnings on these platforms can however, meet some needs.

If you’re thinking you don’t have a house, why not manage for people that do? Most people don’t have time to talk to guest looking to lodge and answer questions.
That’s where you come in, and at the end of the deal you go home with 30 to 40% of the deal as the manager.
#26: Start a Forum Website
Starting a forum is the perfect alternative to creating a blog if you know you won’t have all the time in the world to create content.

Starting a marketing agency may not be for everyone, but if you have the basic understanding on how to run adverts on major platforms then you may just be a step away from cashing big with marketing agency.
What this business model simply entails is getting paid to run advert for small business owners. This could be on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc.
The good thing about this business is that once you establish yourself, you’ll start getting a referral from your previous clients.
#30: Create an App
Creating an app can be a gold mine if you win the Jackpot. It’s just one of the things we overlook online in Nigeria!
However, if you can be creative and think of any idea you think people might buy, or an idea that solves a real problem.
If this work, you just need to place it on Google play store for people to install, the more installation and download it has meant more money for you once it’s monetized with adverts.
#31: White Label Products
Finally, Selling white label products is another great way to make money online because of its huge potential profits.
White label products are products or services produced by a manufacturer for another company or business to rebrand as their own.

You can get a white label product as low as N100 and resell them as high as N10,000! That’s how big the profit can be, however, the manufacturers only produce products in large quantities.
The most popular website for this is Alibaba.com!
As you can see, that’s a pretty long list, and it still subjects to updates. This means as any new online business in Nigeria pops up, it going to be added to the list ASAP.
Also, for getting paid online, the majority of the payment method for receiving money is via PayPal and Payoneer. As a matter of FACT, PayPal is very important.
